The Taylors - 1993 Taylor 810-LTD

The Taylor 810-LTD pictured below is the first Taylor rosewood-bodied guitar I've owned. It was a eBay purchase from an individual who had, unfortunately, let it be exposed to a high-humidity environment for a long period of time where it had become somewhat "bonded" to the lining of the case. This was a real problem and led me to name the guitar "Fuzzy", as some of the fuzz still remained adheared to part of the guitar when it arrived.

I took the guitar to Ross Teigan in Naples, Florida to have it professionally buffed out and he discovered that the bridge was also lifting so I had it all done and setup to my preferences at the same time. Ross never told me how much time he actually spent on getting the finish buffed out but I have heard through others that had guitars there at the same time that he was spending a LOT of time on it. The end result is an instrument that looks great (though not perfect) and is almost effortless to play. It has the lowest action of any of my acoustics and the tone is worthy of the Taylor name and reputation.

And now for the pictures (click to enlarge):

The guitar came in the original Taylor hardshell case which, perhaps due to the high-humidity incident, is the most form-fitting hardshell case I have ever seen; it is almost difficult to remove the guitar from it. However, in being this tight, it offers great protection from whiplash type damages to the neck, etc...

So concludes the presentation of my 1993 Taylor 810-LTD. Feel free to contact me with any questions and/or comments. *8o)
