The Electrics - 2000 Fender Stratacoustic

This instrument is another one of my famous (infamous?) "Road" guitars, the definition being a guitar acquired with the intent of using it "on the road", implying that real harm might befall it in terms of damage or the elements in general. This guitar is perfect for that since it is basically a plastic guitar but is acoustic/electric so it can be used in a variety of situations. It plays really well and sounds like a quiet Ovation acoustically. Plugged in it sounds like, well, a cheap electric guitar but, hey, if you're playing in a pub or bar, who cares? In any event, it never really got used for its intended venue/environment but I'm not done playing yet...

This instrument is rock stock and pure plastic - meaning rugged. It plays well, has onboard EQ, volume control and battery indicator in the upper bout and has a very comfortable contoured body shape. The neck is slim and very fast and allows the action to be low without buzzing - even using light guage strings.

There was no case with this guitar but it has enherited a padded gig bag from one of my other acquisitions so it is warm and happy - even for a road guitar...
