The Taylors - 1987 Blonde Taylor 615

This is the first Taylor 615 guitar I ever played and is my main "player" instrument. It is the older of the two 615s I own, being of 1987 vintage, and has the super-slim neck I have grown so fond of. Besides that, it has a very crisp tone that really cuts through when you need it to make a statement and be heard over other accompanying instruments.

The specifications for this guitar may or may not be listed on the Taylor Guitars website under the Jumbo style of guitar; since they no longer make 6-strings in this style you would have to consult the 12-string section for the body dimensions, etc. (17 inches wide at the lower bout). The back and sides are made of figured maple and has not been stained orange like many of the later 600-series models; for this reason, the name "Blondie" was given to this instrument. The top is Sitka Spruce and the neck is made from a single piece of mahogany. It has an undersaddle pickup installed and sounds absolutely incredible plugged it; either way, it has no problem being heard in any musical situation.

This is a plain, stunning guitar in very good, played condition. Even after playing some of my more ornate and/or expensive models, I keep returning to Blondie for sheer playing pleasure. It has that pure, maple-body sound and really gets to me...

The guitar came in the original Taylor hardshell case, shown above, which is in good, used condition.

So concludes the presentation of my 1987 Taylor 615 guitar. Feel free to contact me with any questions and/or comments. *8o)
